Full Glastonbury 2003 lineup
25th June 2003 - 03:00
The full line-up for Glastonbury 2003 holds few surprises and, as expected, confirms Radiohead will headline on the Saturday night.
REM are the headliners on the Friday and Moby tops the bill on the Sunday night – but not all of the line-up is as predicted.
The Streets close the dance tent on Sunday night, while John Cale, veteran of the Velvet Underground, heads Saturday night in the new bands tent.
Before Radiohead on Saturday, the Pyramid stage will host afternoon spots from Jools Holland, Jimmy Cliff, and Supergrass, acoustic rock from Turin Brakes, and sets from the Flaming Lips and the Polyphonic Spree.
Friday’s Pyramid stage line-up is dominated by rock: Echo and the Bunnymen and the Inspiral Carpets are on early, Suede and REM on last. Also on Friday, David Gray moves from the acoustic tent to the main stage, and De La Soul relive 1980s dance glories.
The Manic Street Preachers, Saturday night headliners in 1999, settle for second-to-last on Sunday when Macy Gray, Feeder and the Sugababes also play.
The Chemical Brothers top the dance tent line-up on Saturday night. Fatboy Slim returns to the same place to close on Friday.
On the other stage, Primal Scream, Super Furry Animals, and Doves close on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday respectively. On Saturday, Liverpool favourites The Coral come on after their heroes – Love, with Arthur Lee, who follow The Libertines.
Scandinavian favourites Royksopp and Sigur Rós are second-to-last on the other stage on Friday and Sunday respectively.
The Buena Vista Social Club, the brilliant Cuban collective, play the acoustic tent last on Sunday. Other highlights there include Morcheeba, Beth Orton, and Lamb.
