Leeds Festival given thumbs up
24th February 2005 - 05:00
The Carling Weekend Leeds Festival has had its license approved in record time.
The event was approved unanimously at a one hour meeting at Leeds Civic Hall yesterday evening (February 22), reports NME.
The festival will take place for a third time at Bramham Park with a capacity of 52,000 tickets.
Mean Fiddler MD Melvin Benn welcomed the speedy decision, saying: “This is great news. Last year’s festival once again demonstrated that Bramham Park is the perfect venue for the north’s only music festival and we can now look forward to another three days of great music and world famous bands in 2005.”
The Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals take place between August 26 and August 28.
