Glastonbury ticket information

10th March 2005 - 07:39

The full details of the ticketing system for this year’s Glastonbury Festival have been announced including official information for prices, online booking and the much rumoured photo ID requirements.

A new official statement has confirmed that tickets for the 2005 Glastonbury Festival will be going on sale at 9am on Sunday April 3, 2005. Weekend tickets will cost £125.00 plus £4.00 booking fee and £4.00 postage and packing.

Tickets will be made available for online sales only through www.aloud.com and from the official telephone ticket line 0870 165 2005. Additionally, organisers are making people booking through the telephone know there is a queuing system so punters will incur additional telephone charges at national call rate as they wait their turn.

Tickets sales will be restricted to two per person – and a maximum of two per telephone call, and organisers promise that each transaction will be checked, and duplicate transactions will be declined.

For both online and telephone bookings festival goers will be able to pay (for UK sales) only by Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Switch/Maestro Domestic and Solo.

Credit cards will not be accepted for UK sales. Postal orders and cheques raised by either a building society or a bank (as a Bankers Draft) will also be accepted as payment on the telephone ticket line. Personal cheques cannot be accepted.

As previously reported expected photo ID will be required this year. When buying tickets the buyer must be one of the named ticket holders as the tickets will be personalised. Each ticket will then be checked against approved ID at the festival entrance gates.

The accepted forms of ID are a new photo style driving licence, or a government approved photo ID bearing the PASS hologram, such as the CitizenCard.

For more details including information about ticket confirmations, child tickets, day tickets, overseas sales, car parking, camper/caravan tickets and appling for a CitizenCard on-line go to the official Glastonbury website at www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk

Organisers are at pains to remind people not to buy tickets from any other website or ticketing agencies as none will be allocated tickets – and thus cannot guarantee you a ticket.
