Increased capacity for Leeds
22nd June 2005 - 12:15
Following the decision today (21st June) by Leeds City Council, Mean Fiddler is pleased to announce that the site capacity of
The Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival has been increased.
Allocations of 2,500 tickets for Friday 26th August and 5,000 tickets for both Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th August have now been released for sale and are available here.
Last week the capacity of its sister event,
The Carling Weekend:Reading Festival, also had it’s application approved to increase the site capacity, meaning more music fans can enjoy one of the world’s most famous music festivals.
Mean Fiddler Managing Director, Melvin Benn, said of today’s decision:
“We are delighted that more music fans over the country can enjoy the Carling Weekend: Reading & Leeds Festivals and that both Leeds and Reading Councils have continued to support the live music events in the North and South of the country. It is fantastic news for the fans and now an additional 12,500 people in Leeds and the North of England and 11,000 people in Reading and the South of England get to see their favourite bands at the UK’s biggest selling festival.”
The Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival runs from Friday 26th August to Sunday 28th August at Bramham Park.
Headliners Pixies, Foo Fighters and Iron Maiden will be joined over the three days and six stages by more than 150 bands and cabaret and comedy performers for what is sure to be the event of the summer.
