Glastonbury weather forecast

31st May 2007 - 14:20

Let’s hope the weather for Glastonbury Festival is a lot better than what we had last week!

The BBC’s monthly outlook have predicted that “temperatures will be rather warm in the South West” for the end of June.  Most of the showers are likely to affect the North West and the Midlands.

Looks like it could be a warm one then!

Full BBC monthly outlook here.

What’s wrong with all the hateful people wishing rain on the festival? Did you not get a ticket by any chance???!!! Sour grapes! I think it’s realistic at this stage to assume it will rain a bit, but not like 2005. But to all those who aren’t going and are being spiteful…..enjoy watching it on the telly…baaaaaaaa!!!!!

  29. Tom said on

Can’t wait for the festival, but yes the reports are true – a lot of rain. Not quite the storm we endured in 2005 but constant showers Wed – Fri, a possible break on the saturday, but more rain on Sunday and Monday. Lets just hope the experts have got it completely wrong!

  30. Mr Weatherfanatic said on

No Jozef Wankalski or whatever your stupid sounding name is, but you however may feel a bit of a twat standing in mud 145 quid worse of for the experience you small minded cretin.

  31. John6 said on

I have been goin to Glastonbury since the 1980s and i will be there again this year but only because i make money there. Anyone in the know can tell you that Glastonbury has been rubbish for about the last 7 years. It has had its day. Still i will go there to fleece idiots as usual.

  32. Chris McGlastonburyrocksevenwhenitswet said on

Hey all! Just wanna say so what if it rains, just prepare yourself so you’re not waking up having to put on yesterdays wet clothes and bring your waterproofs and wellies. At the end of the day we’ll all be having a f@*king great time watching the best acts and gettin pissed! And to Matt and the rest of you haters – Why you even reading this thread if you’ve no interest in the festival?? All I can say to you is Hahahahaha, I got a ticket – Along with 12 of my mates!! 35. dale-the-tawt said on

I was there in ‘97 when it chucked it down ALL weekend. T’was awful. 2005 was harsh but it only actually rained for a few hours over the whole festival and most of that was very early in the morning. Looking at the forecast, it’s got 1997 written all over it! See you there!

  36. youngen said on

Hey i was in the 2005 poo storm and it was wicked. Don’t care if it rains again to be honest. Best time ever in ‘05 though this lineup tops it. Happy drug taking peeps! it’s gonna be a messy one. Oh Yeah to all the retards that are clearly bitter, mind the bus as you cross the roads, wouldn’t want you to get hit by one!

  37. Tomjon said on

To all the spitefull haterz and bitter jealous people out there who didnt get tickets, who feel the need to try and dampen all those who did’s spirits…well, basically, UNLUCKY HA HA HA! Coz im going down on monday till the following wednesday and getting paid for it…C’MON!!!

I dont care about the weather coz I’LL BE THERE AND NOT WATCHING AT HOME!!
And lets face it, its not quite Glasto unless we get some rain, it’s kind of unwritten tradition!

A MASSIVE hello to all those going and i’ll c u there!!

    xxxxxx

  38. amy said on

  41. Chris said on

Matt, you abviously have a midgit c*ck! we’re not over concerned whether it rains or not, it will still be class either way. What is troubling me is why you would enter a debate about glastonbury weather if you have such ill feelings towards it and the people going. Gan boil ya heed ya sad tw*t! enjoy wrestlemania on your own in your bedroom. P.s. those people you meet online arn’t really your friends!

  42. Tan said on

I heard they’re putting a roof over it this year. And giving out long straws so those with no weed can point them upwards and enjoy. It’s a 2 in 1 solution that should please everybody.

I spent my time looking at weather forecasts laughing my head off and spend my money on fine wine and fresh cider ready to watch you all floundering around in mud trying to work out why the hell you bothered coming..good luck…your gonna need it.

  51. Juliet lovely stuff said on

lol @ John6, Glastonbury is fantastic, and evolves with time. If you have not enjoyed it for seven years, perhaps it is your state of mind.

I have been going since the 80s and it keeps getting better and better.

Mind you, we don’t spend the weekend trying to make money, we just have FUN!

Check out the LostVaguenss fields, for dancing girls, and burlesque, you might cheer up a little.

Nothing like a few jiggling breasts for morale…

  52. Funny Guy said on

Its all in the name ‘MATT’…if you just rearrnge the letters as so the M becomes a W you get ‘T W A T’. Sez it all really. To all those going, its gonna to be a muddy one whether it rains or not over the weekend as the ground is already sodden…but do any of you care? have a good un.

  53. John6 said on

Sorry Juliet I dont think you understood me. I said Glastonbury has been rubbish for about 7 years now but I did not say that I had a bad time there, I am always having a good time when I make as much money as I do from people such as yourself in such a short space of time. You see to some people making money IS fun. I will however have more fun after the fesivalspending your money visiting my in laws in Brazil.

  54. Matt said on

That’s not rearranging the letters… that’s adding letter’s…. try a bit harder ‘funny guy’. Just seen the 5 day forecast….oh dear.

Next time you might listen to those who know more than you. Done your washing yet you arsehole?

  57. ToniJ said on

Glasto was shite never again. What a load of overhyped rubbish it was nothing special. Burning Man in the US or any Brazilian carnival would kick it to death.

  58. Alice said on

Glasto rocked this year! Yes the mud did get a bit annoying by the end as my twisted knees will tell…but overall its the atmosphere (and the space cakes) that makes it and it was wicked – Rufus Wainwright, Bjork and Chem Bros were highlights for me.

  59. Matt said on

Wish you’d have listened to uncle Matt don’t you………let’s face it …it was shite.

  60. Steve Peart said on

I dont care if it rains, snows or we have a tornado just please let me get a ticket!!!

  61. Matt said on

Hi Guys…It’s that time of year again. All getting ready for the overpriced, overhyped, mainstream meanfiddler mudbath. You can count your chickens it’s going to rain and no matter how you look at it …..It’s shit. Started looking at the long range forecasts already. Can’t wait

  62. fairypearl said on

we got tickets, so don’t care, will live in a happy glasto bubble xx

  64. Mattisacompletetosser said on

Hey Matt, I had the time of my life last year even though it rained so haha I didn’t waste my money at all.
This year I’m going again and I don’t care if it rains I’m still gonna have a great time, and while I’m having fun you will be at home trying to masturbate the cheesy little vagina you have.
    Good luck with that.

    P.S.
hey mr weatherfanatic whats the forecast this year then?

Who’s this Matt bloke? Why’s he bothering to waste time dissing Glasto, and wishing bad weather on the festival? You need to have a word with yourself, pal – sounds like you’ve got no idea what Glastonbury’s all about. Have you ever even been there?

  67. legosex said on

  70. clarabel said on

now now people lets not get nasty.

Matt seems to think it’s a bunch of druggies listening to music in the sodden mud.

Anyone who’s BEEN to Glasto knows it’s not actually true and a little bit special.

I would say don’t bother venting your anger on the likes of Matt (you wont change his mind and he doesn’t want it changed)

Glastonbury IS more than music, after all it is a festival of the ARTS. Yes the likes of radio 1 etc hype it up. But most Sensible people go with open minds and hopefully don’t believe the hype. Circus, comedy, cabaret, cinema, cafe’s, art, impomptu performances. I rarely go to the main stages as there is so much more to do.

I’ve worked in the medical tent for a few years and actually drug incidents are not the main thing we deal with (trench foot and sprains are if your interested)If you do find yourself in need or Doctors and Nurses Paramedics, Physio’s etc whilst at the festival please be nice to us!

Shock horror Glastonbury is WET it’s pretty much ALWAYS wet because there is some meteorlogical reason that the last week in June due to weather currents etc etc yawn yawn make it so.

They will not move the date of glasto because the last week in June has a link to pagan dates or something like that! (The things you discuss when your on nights in the medical tent!!)

So there you have it….a festival in the wettest week of the summer and it’s never going to change.

Have a great one for all who are going.
Enjoy watching on TV for all those who aren’t/can’t

and for the non believers put your efforts into something more constructive than bashing Glasto lovers!

    Tootle pip all

    xx

  71. Jay-Z said on

    Bez,

For your information I first attended in 1990 and have been nearly every year since. The only reason I make bad weather forecasts is the fact I’m not attending and like winding you all up.Chill out people. This year I predict the sun will shine…..a bit.

  72. Matt said on

Clarabel…this isn’t a site to tell long stories and make up things. I’ve been to Glastonbury 13 times. You don’t really think people will believe you work in a medical tent do you. dream on sweet Caroline. Wake up a smell the cider.
