Womad announce more artists

8th May 2007 - 11:07

Womad, which this year takes place at Charlton Park in Wiltshire from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th July, have announced more acts.

WOMAD are delighted to confirm that a further ten artists have been added to the bill for the 25th WOMAD festival, including soul legend, Isaac Hayes (USA).   Also joining the bill are Tinariwen (Mali), Seth Lakeman (UK), Calexico (USA), David D’Or (Israel), Young Zulu Warriors (South Africa), Afrodisiac Sound System (USA), Dream Engine’s ‘Heliosphere’ (UK) and Hocus Pocus (France).

Over 70 world-class artists from 40 countries will perform over the festival weekend.

WOMAD are also very pleased to confirm that The Blind Boys Of Alabama (USA) will be performing their award-winning formula of gospel and soul at Charlton Park on Thursday 26th July, giving anyone already on-site a fantastic bonus on top of the three ‘official’ festival days.

Tickets for Womad are priced at £120 for the whole weekend, which includes camping.  Local residents (SN16) are eligible for a £70 reduction on the tickets.

More information and how to buy the tickets can be found on the Womad.org site.
