Libertines may reunited at Glastonbury

18th June 2007 - 14:49

Defunct band The Libertines may reunite at Glastonbury Festival this week.

Newspaper Daily Mirror reports the group’s joint frontmen Pete Doherty and Carl Barat have been in talks to share the Acoustic Stage at the Somerset festival on Saturday.

The rockers’ new bands Dirty Pretty Things and Babyshambles are both slotted to perform on the Acoustic Stage anyway, but the two singers are hoping to overlap their sets.

An insider says, “The lads have been talking about it for months.

“Although they’ve both got their own bands now, neither has had anything like the acclaim The Libertines had.

“Pete and Carl are still arguing about what songs they’re going to perform – but whatever they settle on, it’ll be incredible.”

The Libertines split in 2004, shortly after self-confessed drug addict Doherty quit the band.
