Oasis forced to pull V Festival show at Hylands Park
24th August 2009 - 10:15
Festival goers at yesterday’s V Festival at Hylands Park in Chelmsford sadly didn’t get to see Oasis.
The band had to pull their second leg of the V Festival due to Liam being diagnosed with viral laryngitis. Snow Patrol stepped in and covered for Oasis last night.
An Oasis spokesman said: “After a year of being on the road this is the first performance to be lost to a band member’s illness, so naturally we are all completely gutted. Liam is resting up and should be fine to resume the tour next Friday in Paris.”
V Festival director Bob Angus said: “Fans will be disappointed of course – the artists’ health must come first.”
It’s rumoured Oasis will now only receive half of their reported £1.5million fee after disappointing around 100,000 people.
