Car parks closed at T In The Park

7th July 2007 - 09:36

Fans heading to T In The Park are being urged to catch the shuttle bus, as the car parks have been turn into mud baths.

Thousands were still unable to get on site, when the car parks were closed at 22:30.

Earlier the festival caused traffic chaos with tailbacks of up to 12 miles.

A spokesman for T In The Park said: “There have been major traffic queues due to the wet weather conditions which has made parking on site extremely difficult.

“As a result this has slowed down traffic into the event and caused tailbacks.

“While we are working as hard as we can to resolve this we would encourage fans coming to the event on Saturday to take a shuttle bus instead of driving to alleviate traffic.”

Bus company Citylink are providing a frequent shuttle service to and from the event, with buses leaving from 26 locations across Scotland.

Lily Allen, Bloc Party and Arctic Monkeys played last night.  The Killers, Razorlight and Brian Wilson are headlining tonight, with Snow Patrol, Scissor Sisters and The Fratellis closing the festival on Sunday.

It took us ten and a half hours to drive from Glasgow to T in the Park, normally takes 40 mins in clear traffic. Finally got there and was directed to a car park where we got stuck in the mud. 2 car park attendants ran up and one started screaming in my friends face, bearing in mind she had been driving for hours and kept telling her to turn the wheel whilst they tried to get us out the mud. After all of about 30 secs they gave up and my mates boyf who has a broken arm and was in a plastercast and myself, 5ft 4 midget with no strength had to push the car out the mud…thanks guys!
