Arcade Fire on twice eh? (as at 5 past 12 on this post anyway).

They are that good that they should play twice - I say Pyramid, followed by a set in the acoustic tent

I think the line up is cheap and tacky and has obviously proved that the real Glastonbury is over and probably will never be back. Its all about money and not the good times. I wont ever be going again, but i do have good memories of it

massivley disappointed with the line up so far. i agree that it is cheap and tacky. i thought i was lucky to get tickets but i have a feeling this will be my tenth and last glastonbury. the end of an era.

Are you all mad… cheap and tacky… youve got to be joking!! I loved to go but havent been able to get a ticket for the second time now! All the bands playing sound wicked to me…..apart from the odd couple i havent heard off!

Yes i think all these are all mad, cheap & tacky….. the only possible reason i can think of this is that the bands are all really big & popular.. and of course, in their deluded minds means they’ve sold out.. doesn’t mean at all that there’s more people out there that appreciate good indie/rock music than in previous years, i think all who are giving negative comments should refrain from buying tickets to give genuine open minded people a chance to buy tickets to this amazing event!!

yer agree what a joke of a line up…all pop bands no real music/bands like years gone by….prue rubbish.

Is it just me or have the NME decided the lineup this year, how many, there are far to many unproven acts on and no sign of the people who made last years best music, Gossip, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, Tapes and Tapes anyone? And Babyshambles and Pete Doherty being there is an insult to us all.

  9. Jim H said on

Errm, the lineup is neither complete or confirmed at this stage, so who knows…

  10. Laura said on

Arctic Monkeys, Babyshambles, CSS The Klaxons are the only good bands playing. I’m not pleased at all. Thank God I didn’t get a ticket.

  11. Sam said on

Basically, if you hate the lineup, return your ticket so people that havent got one and would like to have one can go.

  12. Sam G said on

Well said Dave, and you Sam….. they are all probably just gutted that they are not going! Do you normally manage to get tickets?

  13. Greg said on

Granted maybe the lineup is missing some crucial acts to give it that vibe you only get with Glastonbury but get over it next, there is still going to be some quality acts!

Sour grapes from those slating the line-up I reckon, what’s up guys, miss out on a ticket did we? as Sam said, if you don’t like the line-up (which incidentally ain’t confirmed until June)stop your moaning and send your tickets back for someone else to buy.

  15. Pete said on

No sour grapes from me, I HAVE tickets and I think the lineup is terrible. I might as well just sit in my tent and listen to XFM or Radio 1, given the confirmed bands. Lets hope there are some really good smaller bands on the bill in the true Glastonbury spirit, not multi-conglomerate pop cashcows to make Eavis look more popular to the twatty 30-something BMW owners who seem to be taking over the festival.

Hi all those people who are saying the line ups shit , or what ever your favourate word of the moment is, are amazing becasue I pride my self on listeningto a lot of different music and I haven\’t heard of 1/4 of the bands rumored to be playing. Yes there are so interesting choises but who cares if your that bothered go take (your drug of choise) and go listen to someone you\’ve never heard of before, you never no you might like it. as for me I\’d love to be seeing Quens of the stoneage, red hot chilli peppers and rage against the machine but nothings perfect.

and as for money worthy farm is apparently £11,000,000 (yes thats 6 zeros) in dedt and all the money from glasto goes to charity

    Sorry for the spelling

i can’t wait. its not even all about the music its about the atmosphere of the festival, we’re just lucky that there is also an outstanding line up too! also the new stage/park idea sound wicked. great music, great times, bring on glasto 2007.

  18. Lloydy - Nottingham said on

worthy farm £11,000,000 in debt? how can that possibly be? The festival is for charity but surely there is no way the farm would get itself into debt as a result of giving profits to charity? how could it? the festival will rake around £21 million from ticket sales alone, then around £5 - 10k from each stall there which would add god knows how many more millions to the revenue it takes, myself I cannot see how it could possibly get into debts of that magnitude.

And as for people moaning about the line up, why bother even getting a ticket? you muppets, theres 1000\’s of people out there who would give their right arm to get to Glasto, but never manage to get tickets, and heres u lot moaning?! T

He festival woudl be better off without those who think the line up is shite, so why not give up your ticket if you really think that badly of it? There is so much to take in and do at glasto other than music anyway, just the vibe of being there is something to look forward to in itself, this year will be my third year there and I cannot find a bad word to say about it, and anyone who has a bad word to say, in my opion, can go suck an egg!

see you all at glastonbury 2007, where I intend to av it Large son!

    get in!

    1. if you havn\’t got a ticket, f*** off no one cares if you dont like the line up, your not going so get bent.
    2. the line up is great, with a few downers. how can you possible call the manic street preachers and the who cheap and tacky, are you on acid?
    3. pete doherty is no disgrace, get over his drug habbit, name a few good rockstars who arnt on drugs?
    4. BRING ON GLASTO 2007 YOU UNYHAPPY F**KERS

What i wanna know is why arent glastonbury town band playing this year? i have been at the festival for 10 years running and been woken up by them every sunday morning!! whats happened to tradition? instead they are bringing bands down from London…. we have the best here where we live. why cant we keep our local bands and be proud of what we have?

  21. Arron said on

Glasto lineup never looks complete until ur there and realise u haven’t got nearly enough time to do any of the things you’ve planned.
To those moaning that it looks like pop bands:
It is most bands/artists dream to perform at Glastonbury and with 2006 not taking place you have twice as many newer big names wanting to play this year.
It was the same in 2002 after a year out. Pyramid headliners as weak as the stereophonics and coldplay but with White Stripes, Faithless and many credible acts further down the lineup it all seemed to balance out. If ur booking a festival lineup and big crowd pullers/pleasers starting ringing up asking to play u’d be a fool to say “no, it might look a bit tacky”.
How can people be complaining about attending the greatest (large) event in the world. It is such an honour to be a part of a community that lives outdoors in near harmony, policing itself, every citizen equal, living amongst the most breath taking scenery and interesting folk on the planet. Even if it is only for a few days. And to top it off world class entertainment provided throughout. Admitedly the three big names don’t quite shine like the 2003 lineup with Paul Mc and Oasis (love them or hate them, they’re BIG names) but if ur not looking 4wrd to glastonbury that much that u’ve been dreaming about it 4 months, checking rumours sites daily since last year (ok maybe that’s a bit keen) then please don’t even try to get tickets again. I have so many friends who failed (again) to get tickets and like i would be (if i hadn’t been lucky) are distrort. I’m counting down the seconds, can’t wait to see you all there.

  22. Kinger said on

Oh dear, some unhappy revellers here. I’d like to remind you that this festival is much more then it’s music line up (which with Arcade Fire, Bjork, Hot Chip, Amy Winehouse, Beirut, Chas n’ Dave, Damian Marley, Damian Rice, Billg Bragg et al doesn’t look so bad too me..).

Also, to the ‘lovely’ Peter. Many of those “twatty” 30 year olds are the same people who have been going for years. Should we stop going at a certain age? Whats the cut off? I assume we won’t see you there as you grow old gracefully?

  23. alex said on

i agree with all of you about the lineup, a bit of a shambles it may be but Glastonbury is still and always will be the greatest festival.i cant wait to return to my home of dilluded madness, and all of you who managed to get tickets share the love not the negativity.
    much love everyone
    xx

I think that the lineup looks absolutely fantastic.-apart from a few exceptions.- the bands who have risen to fame quite quickly- the kooks, arctic monkeys. etc.
But the chemical brothers, Paul Weller, the who, fatboy slim. what are the chances? come on, thats just f*cking excellent!

  25. Normski said on

I ain’t keen on the line-up either, except for The Who, who put on a proper good show. I’d rather see bands at a Monsters of Metal type festival, with the hope of seeing Manowar!!

    BUT

Ther’s loads to see and do at Glast, so it’s well worth it, buzzin aboot with yer mates and getting involved in plenty of madness.

That’s what makes it worth while for me. I couldn’t give a shit about most of the background music, gimme Racer X and a Shredfest anyday
