Gnarls Barkley pull out of Creamfields
25th August 2006 - 06:00Gnarls Barkley have been forced to cancel their appearance at Creamfields and four other upcoming shows, after Cee-Lo was told by doctors he needs to rest his voice.
The band have been working non-stop all year and this busy schedule is thought to have put strain on Cee-Lo.
In a statement, the band’s management said: “With great regret, Gnarls Barkley has had to cancel their appearance at this weekend’s Creamfields festival at the last moment.
“Due to non-stop performances for the last three months, Cee-Lo has put a great strain on his vocal chords and has been advised to cancel his next five shows or risk having more extensive problems.”
It continues: “The band is still due to return to the UK in November for a series of radio and television appearances and it’s hoped that these can still go ahead. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to make up these 5 dates ASAP.”
The likes of Prodigy, Goldfrapp and The Zutons are all playing the main stage at Creamfields where Gnarls were due to play.
