Leeds and Reading Festival tickets cancelled

22nd March 2007 - 10:39

Thousands of tickets for this years Carling Weekend at Reading and Leeds have been cancelled.

Weekend tickets for both venues sold out within hours on Monday, however some fans were advised that their tickets had been withdrawn.

Organiers told NME that purchases were dealt with so quickly that problems with over 3,000 credit cards, only came light after the email confirmations had been sent out.

Mean Fiddler’s Melvyn Benn said “Cards were rejected either because their numbers were inputted incorrectly or they did not have sufficient funds.

“The sad thing it they got a confirmation and then relaxed and it wasn’t until the next morning they were told there was a problem, by which time the weekend tickets were gone.”

BBC News also reported that those who had been affected had coach package tickets reserved for them until 1930 last night.

Reading and Leeds Festival takes place from August 24th until August 26th and will see the likes of Smashing Pumpkins, Razorlight and Red Hot Chilli Peppers appearing.
