Tickets for Take That go on sale this morning at 9am and already a number of ticket sites are feeling the pressure.  Ticketmaster appears to be shaping up well though but only time will tell.

The 5 have reunited with Robbie Williams for a number of shows starting in Sunderland next summer.

If you’re a Take That fan, be prepared for the scrum for tickets and keep trying official site such as Ticketmaster.  If all else fails, there is always the official secondary ticket sites such as ViaGoGo or Seatwave too.

Kasabian and Muse bagged top honours at the Shockwaves NME Awards, with Kasabian claiming the ‘Best Album’ title and Muse taking ‘Best British Band’.

Muse singer Matt Bellamy was well chuffed and said “”I didn’t expect to win that one at all,” he said. “It’s very humbling to win that.”

Over 3 million votes were cast by NME readers, with Muse beating Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Biffy Clyro and Kasabian for the best British band title.

Both bands have recently been announced as headliners for this years T in the Park, with Muse already lined up to headline Glastonbury 2010, which also won Best Festival at Tuesday nights award ceremony.

Lady GaGa bagged both best and worst dressed celebrity which is hardly suprising as she has a fashion style all of her own!

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE – CHRISTMAS NUMBER 1

Rage Against The Machine have gone and done it – the Christmas number one for 2009 is theirs!

Thanks to phenomenal support through Twitter and Facebook, RATM and the RATM4XMAS campaign have gone and claimed the Christmas number 1 spot.

Killing in the Name has now no doubt made history in what has been the biggest Christmas number 1 chart battle ever!!

It’s not known yet as to what the difference is, but official sales figures will be announced shortly.

NME are reporting that Rage Against The Machine have announced plans to play a free concert in the UK if their single ‘Killing In The Name’ beats Joe McElderry’s ‘The Climb’ in the race to be Christmas Number One.

The band have said they will head over to UK shores for a special one-off “thank you” gig in 2010 if they win and are planning to invite X Factor judge Simon Cowell to MC at the show.

Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello said: “Attention Freedom Fighters! RAGE VS. X-FACTOR WILL BE DECIDED BY SATURDAY’S SALES. Spread the word! Knock on doors! Host downloading parties! Knock over ladies buying X-Factor! The clock is ticking. And if ‘Killing In The Name’ is number one WE ARE COMING. And it will be the victory party to end all victory parties.”

It’s unlikely X Factor winner, Joe McElderry, will attend after he speaking to The Sun about RATM’s Killing in the Name “It’s dreadful and I hate it. How could anyone enjoy this? Can you imagine the grandmas hearing this over Christmas lunch?

‘I will be really disappointed if it doesn’t go to No1 after all the effort I’ve put in to this and winning the show.’

The Christmas number 1 is to be announced just before 7pm tonight on Radio 1’s chart show – don’t miss it!

It’s been the chart battle of the century and we’re now just hours from finding out who will claim the Christmas number 1 spot.

The huge campaign, RATM4Xmas, has seen Rage Against The Machine’s Killing In The Name be up against X Factor winner, Joe McElderry, and it all started through one man on Facebook.  Jon Morter, with the help of his wife, Tracy, decided enough was enough with the X Factor always claiming the Christmas number 1 spot and decided to do something about it!

Over 800,000 Facebook fans later and the campaign has certainly put the frighteners on Simon Cowell, who branded it ‘cynical’ and was ‘an attempt to spoil the party.

Despite appearing on the X Factor Final, Sir Paul McCartney, has announced his support for RATM.  Speaking to Sky News, Macca said “If he (McElderry) goes to No 1 then good luck to him. He’s just some kid with a career ahead. I’ve got nothing against that, but it would be kind of funny if Rage Against the Machine got it because it would prove a point.”

Rage Against The Machine’s guitarist, Tom Morello,  said that by buying ‘Killing In The Name’, fans are effectively voting against The X Factor and other reality TV programmes like it.

“The one thing about The X Factor show, much like our own American Idol, is if you’re a viewer of the show you get to vote for one contestant or the other, but you don’t really get to vote against the show itself until now,” he told BBC 6Music.

HMV have said reported that Rage Against The Machine do appear to be ahead of Joe, but many people may have been stocking up on Joe’s single over the weekend.  Although with the recent snowfall, many may have not been able to get and the last chance was by midnight last night.

Killing in the Name has been number 1 on Amazon’s download chart for most of the week and is still there, showing there’s still huge support for it.  See the chart.

The eventual will be announced on Radio 1’s Chart Show from 4pm today.

Following the sad news of the death of Micheal Jackson, tributes were made to him at this weekends Glastonbury Festival.

The King of Pop was a legend and first to acknowledge his talent at Glastonbury was Gabriella Climi, who sang lines from his hit, Billie Jean.

Speaking to the BBC, Glastonbury Festival organiser Emily Eavis called him a “truly great artist”.

She added: “There will be tributes all over the site, all weekend”.

Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis added: “You realise what a fantastic legend we’ve lost, the like of which we can’t really replace.

“As an exponent of song and dance, no-one came close.”

Already, Amazon’s top 10 selling CD’s are all by Michael Jackon with his special edition ‘Off The Wall’ leading the top of the chart, with his collection of top video hits – Number Ones also taking the number 1 spot on the dvd charts.

RIP Michael.

Demand for O2 priority tickets for Michael Jackson’s gigs at the O2 Arena in July, crashed the O2 website this morning.

Repeated messages of ‘Server too busy’, as well as problems with the O2 priority codes have been reported too.

Customers with Michael Jackson Live codes appear to be getting tickets for the 10 shows. 

Tickets go on general sale on Friday 13th at 7am with Ticketmaster.

Alternatively, if you can’t wait for tickets for the Michael Jackson concert are available on the fan to fan ticket exchange, Seatwave.

Interpol were forced to cancel a U.K. gig after a bandmember was struck down by a mystery illness.
The US group were due to play at the Newcastle Academy venue on Tuesday 21st August, but pulled out at the last minute.

The band have so far failed to reveal the nature of the illness or which member it affects, but fans on the group’s messageboards suggest it was bassist Carlos Dengler.

Interpol were also scheduled to appear at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange venue yesterday, as well as this weekend’s Leeds and Reading Festivals.

Pete Doherty escaped prosecution on Tuesday because authorities failed to get him to court in time.
The 28-year-old was arrested this Monday on suspicion of possessing drugs, and charged with breaching his bail conditions.

He was kept in jail overnight, but a magistrate was forced to release him without charge on Tuesday because more than 24 hours had passed since his arrest.

Prosecutor Anjulika Vatish told West London Magistrates’ Court, “The court has no jurisdiction to deal with this matter anymore.”

Just weeks ago Doherty was warned he had a month to prove his desire to quit drugs or he would face a jail sentence after committing a number of drug-related offences.

The troubled Babyshambles rocker was detained in Tower Hamlets, east London, in the early hours of Monday 21st August.

A Scotland Yard spokesman confirmed: “At 2.30am on Monday morning officers in Tower Hamlets arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of possessing drugs.’

Pete and two others, an unnamed man and woman, were held at an east London police station after officers stopped the car they were travelling in.

The 28-year-old musician, who performed with his band at V Festival in Stafford late on Sunday, was ordered to quit drugs or face a prison sentence less than two weeks ago.

Pete, who pleaded guilty to possession of crack cocaine, heroin, cannabis and ketamine as well as two driving offences in July, was given four weeks to get himself drug-free on August 6.

District Judge Davinder Lachlar said at the time: ‘I will adjourn this matter until September 4 to assess his motivation.

What I have in mind is a community order or prison. If he does not show the motivation in four weeks it will be prison – it’s as simple as that.’

Judge Lachlar previously ordered Pete – who was stopped by police in Kensington High Street, west London, on May 5th – to undergo a detox treatment at a hearing in July.
