US rapper Jay-Z has been confirmed as a headline act at this year’s Wireless Festival in London’s Hyde Park, the BBC reports.

Speaking to the BBC, festival organisers said the performer, who will play the first night of the four day event in July, was a “thrilling live performer” and a “true living legend”.

Mark Ronson, Hot Chip and Roisin Murphy will appear on the same night as the Grammy award-winning rapper.

Morrissey, Fatboy Slim and Counting Crows are the event’s other headliners.  Full O2 Wireless lineup.

O2 Wireless Festival takes place in London’s Hyde Park from the 3rd to 6th July.

Faithless stole the show at the O2 Wireless festival in Hyde Park, thanks to a storming set which included old faves Insomnia and We Come 1.

Just Jack also wowed the crowds, especially as the sun came out as he started Stars In Their Eyes.

Kaiser Chiefs and Editors finished off what was a fantastic four days.

Kaiser Chiefs have been confirmed as appearing at this years Wireless Festivals.

Wireless Festival takes place in London at Hyde Park from 14th – 17th June and at Harewood House in Leeds from 16th – 17th June.

An announcement is to be made on Monday 12th March and the full lineup will be announced.

In addition to Hyde Park, a spin-off event is planned for Leeds at Harewood House.

02 Wireless 2006 runs from Wednesday 21 June until Sunday 25 June 2006 at Hyde Park and from Saturday 24 June until Sunday 25 June 2006 in Leeds.

Keane, Kasabian, Basement Jaxx and New Order have confirmed they will play at the Wireless Festival.

The new festival will take place in London’s Hyde Park in June.

New Order will play at the event on June 24, Basement Jaxx on June 25, Keane on the 29 and Kasabian on June 30.

Tickets go on sale on March 12 at 9am reports NME.com.
