Working at festivals - Reading and Leeds
1st June 2007 - 10:12Festival work (thoses 2 words don’t look right together!)
If you fancy working at Carling Weekend: Reading & Leeds Festivals then make sure you apply now to be part of the CATs (Campsite Assistant Teams).
Each year volunteers help festivalgoers with directions, help them carry their gear and report any problems on the campsites - and generally act as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the festival.
All you have to do is work a few shifts then in return you’ll get a full weekend pass to enjoy the festival when you’re off-shift.

I would really enjoy working at the festival. the whole experience is fantastic and not many can say they worked at one! I love a challenge and this seems like good fun to.

I also thought it\’d be amazing to work at a festival… I looked into Leeds and Reading but you have to put down £140 deposit before you can go!!!
How extortionate is this?? for an extra £10 you can go to the festival and not work. Yeah you get the deposit back, but only if everything is in mint condition and if you work the full 8 hour shifts (doesnt sound too bad, but how much can do you do in 8 hours??) etc… I can\’t afford £140 and I REALLY wanted to do this.
Grr.
I cant believe this either, festivals are supposed to be about chilled atmospheres,I bet everyone is on edge about that deposit they might loose, especially as they are probably having a swig of carling here and there, I work at two festivals in the south(Isle of Wight) and they are very chilled so head over to them!! peace
